CEREC AC

No Temporary Crowns.
No Messy Impressions.
One Easy Appointment.

...and now we can make Porcelain Bridges Too!

CEREC AC is an advanced dental technology that is utilized for the restoration of decayed, cracked, or chipped teeth. With CEREC AC we can create all porcelain full crowns, Implant Crowns, inlays, onlays, veneers and now we can also create Porcelain Bridges.

Porcelain Fused to Metal (traditional) Crowns are usually easily detectable because their color is "superficial".  They lack depth and far too often have a metal band near the gingival (gum) margin which looks dark.

Most of our CEREC AC restorations are made on the same day using a material known as EMax.  EMax allows restorations to be really beautiful and look extremely natural because of it's translucency and, by completely eliminating the metal substructure, there is NO gray susbtructure and NO "black" margin.  They are also more conservative of your precious natural tooth structure than traditional Crowns.

In addition, they are amazingly accurate and wear about the same rate on natural tooth structure.

CEREC AC technology is also very convenient. The final Crown is usually delivered in the same day. That means NO ugly temporary crowns that come off.

An added benefit is the impression. All digital, "no messy stuff".

Procedure:

The procedure for a CEREC AC EMax restoration is very simple.

The first step is to remove all decay from the tooth. Then the doctor repairs, rebuilds and adequately shapes the tooth.  A small digital Scanner or "camera" is to make an accurate color 3D computer model of your teeth as well as how they come together. This will allow the doctor to design the restoration right in front of you.

Once the design is completed, instructions are transmitted wirelessly to the milling machine or "3D Printer" in the office. This machine will precisely mill the restoration out of a porcelain block in 11-15 min.  This restoration is verified for precise fit in your mouth and then goes to a furnace.  From here it just needs to bonded in place.

A final x-ray is taken to confirm accuracy and excess Bonding Material removal.

The entire process usually takes around 2 hours.
